These are just some more frames for some prints I got for my office. I also did the Mega Man X poster at this time (though I included it in the post from 8 months earlier). I used PolyWall as the backer and used my Logan Point Driver to hold everything in. Every time I do a set of frames they end up being slightly better than the last set.

One of the frames was HUGE. It was a 40″ x 70″ print of a Bechtel Table, which is a periodic table of sorts. I got glass from the local glass store for all three of the other frames, but for the 40″ x 70″ I had to get plastic – which makes sense. Glass would have been ridiculously heavy not to mention precarious. This large frame presented a number of other problems as well. I made the frame itself very thin (~2 inches wide) to cut down on weight. However, because it was so large it tended to sag in the middle. I reinforced the corners with flat 90 degree metal braces to help it not fall apart on the wall. In addition, I also added a piece of flat perforated metal bar to the back of the frame. This bar was secured to the top of the (back of) the frame, then I compressed the frame with a clamp to make sure it was squared and then secured the bar to the bottom of the back of the frame to make sure the frame stayed “true.” The frame was definitely not perfect but I don’t know a better way of framing a large print like this. I have previously purchased custom sized aluminum frames but they are a little pricey…
