My wife and I had some birch poles that we had purchased to augment our wedding decor. We had no idea what to do with them after the fact but held onto them through the move. We did some searching and came across a good idea that we liked that used branches or logs in a shadowbox sort of design and hung them on the wall. I cut the birch poles and 1 x 4’s down to size and we stained the pine shadowbox frames dark. I tried a number of different techniques to try to get the logs to stay put. I was opposed to using a brad nailer at first because I thought you might be able to see the brads nails. After a number of fails I gave up and tried it. The brad nails ended up being almost invisible and held the logs in place perfectly.
